Tailgate in a $2.5M Custom Coach
Employees work on a custom luxury coach, manufactured at the Marathon Coach, Inc. production facility in Coburg, Oregon. Each custom vehicle takes up to 10,000 hours of labor depending on the complexity, and for the $2.5 million custom coaches, that time is essential.
Marathon Coach began operations in September 1983 converting new commercial bus shells into luxury recreational vehicles and corporate coaches. Although used by major corporations, their biggest patrons are the sports fans, lining up to purchase a Marathon coach to host tailgate parties and avoid the hassle of hotels at big events like NASCAR races.
With a fan base like that, we wonder how many Marathon Coaches will be lined up outside the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey for Super Bowl XLVIII. Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
